ACT to ADAPT

Act to Adapt: Collaborating for Wells

We are excited to announce that the first meeting with the Council and local organisations will take place during EcoWeek+, with additional meetings planned in the coming weeks for broader consultation.

Do you want to help Wells adapt to climate change?

Climate change is already affecting everyone in Somerset, with floods hitting many communities and heatwaves affecting people's health.

The good news is there are lots of ways we can Act to Adapt, making us better prepared for the changing climate.

Join Wells City Council and climate adaptation experts from Somerset Wildlife Trust at this free event, where you will learn about local climate impacts and help create an Adaptation Plan for Wells.

In this interactive event, you will:

· Learn about the latest climate change projections for Somerset and the need for adaptation

· Get a copy of the Climate Adaptation Toolkit for communities, designed to support positive action

· Help create a bespoke Climate Adaptation Plan for Wells, supporting the town and its community to thrive in a changing climate

If you live in or around Wells, want a say in the town's future and to take local action on climate change, join us for this free event!

We're looking for people from all walks of life to help create a strong, locally-informed, inclusive and optimistic plan, plotting a course for Wells to become an adapted, resilient and thriving community.

Refreshments will be provided.

To minimise our collective environmental impact, we encourage you to use active or public transport, where possible, to get to the event.

Please note that this event may be photographed and recorded. By attending, you consent to the use of your image and voice in any related materials. If you wish to opt-out of being photographed or recorded, kindly inform a member of staff upon arrival.
