Come along to the Market Place on Sunday 20th October, where The FIXY van will be ready to collect a variety of electronic items such as old phones, laptops, tablets, PCs, and associated cables and chargers.

All donated devices will undergo a thorough data wiping, resetting, and refurbishing process before being redistributed to individuals facing digital exclusion.

This could be tablets for housebound elderly people, mobile phones for the homeless and so on. Refurbished smartphones are even used for remote monitoring and stabilising of insulin levels in diabetic children with implanted insulin pumps, so that these children’s lives are kept as normal as possible. When devices are not suitable for refurbishing and donating, their component parts, some remarkably valuable, can be recovered and re-used.
