Wells & District Wildlife Group

concerned with the conservation of wildlife and the environment

From September to February, we hold wildlife talks covering topics such as bees, earthworms, birds of the Somerset Levels, hedgehogs, and bats. From March to October, we organise wildlife walks on nature reserves in the Mendips or Somerset Levels. These walks often focus on specific species like adders, bitterns, or butterflies, though other wildlife usually appears if the target species does not. We collaborate with local organisations, providing advice and practical help for shared projects. Throughout the winter months we put on wildlife related talks at the Wells Museum. Suggestions for topics and speakers are always welcome.
